Environment
VMware Horizon View 7.x / 8.x
VMware Carbon Black 3.5.x / 3.6.x
VMware App Volumes 2.x / 4.x
Problem
With Carbon Black Cloud sensors in horizon VDI, observed the login delay while using VMware App Volumes
Solution
Modify the snapvol.cfg file in Appvolumes to exclude the following carbon black process & files
Use notepad ++ or any text editor to add the following lines to the snapvol.cfg file.
################################################################
#Carbon Black Exclusions
################################################################
exclude_process_path=\Program Files\Confer
exclude_process_name=BladeRunner.exe
exclude_process_name=RepCLI.exe
exclude_process_name=RepMgr.exe
exclude_process_name=RepUtils.exe
exclude_process_name=RepUx.exe
exclude_process_name=RepWave.exe
exclude_process_name=RepWmiutils
exclude_process_name=RepWSC.exe
Once the changes are applied in snapvol.cfg, just logoff from the VDI & re-login, the login time will be much faster.
I hope you will find these exclusions are useful and will help you get a faster login. A big thanks to Pradeep Kumar in helping to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
